On Friday, June 11th 2010 GSCC Circle K contributed to the success of Gadsden City Riverfest. Our club was invited by Glen Williams to work under the sponsor tent preparing and serving food to approximately 500 people. The contribution of time and work was gratis. In total, we had 10 of our hard working members assist in this effort. Each member worked a 3-4 hour shift either preparing barbecue, setting up food tables, serving food, or cleaning up. In addition to participating on Friday, our club also worked on Friday and Saturday in conjunction with GSCC SGA for a fundraising effort sponsored by Pepsi. We are very grateful to SGA for inviting us to step in and contribute to this project in exchange for a cut of the profit. Four of our members worked a total of 7 shifts at 3-4 hours per shift. The participants were responsible for vending Pepsi products to the masses at $2 per soda. The total profit of this fundraiser was $3000. Our Circle K cut of this profit was over $400 which will be used toward our upcoming charity events planned for fall of 2010. It is a goal of the various club leaders at Gadsden State to establish good relationships so that when extra help or support is needed to accomplish a goal, there is a helping hand available on the sidelines. The ability  to interclub is a very valuable resource, and GSCC Circle K is proud to have members that represent multiple clubs and organizations in order to make this possible. We send our thanks to Glen Williams, the staff of riverfest, the sponsors of riverfest, Dr. Judy Hill of SGA, and Pepsi.

May 11th, 2010 Circle K of GSCC had the pleasure of working with Aktion club at the local Mcguffey nursing home. This event was an interclub effort along with the Aktion club. We prepared flower arrangements by cutting off  each tulip at the stem and filling vases with water. We then brought 180 tulips in glass vases to the patients. Our goal was to bring a kind note and glad tidings during the week of Mother's day. Each patient recieved a flower and card with a hand written "God Bless You." The event was a great success in that the Aktion club members were able to participate by distributing the flowers and cards as our Circle K interclub accompanied throughout the nursing home. This event will be bi-annual. We send our thanks to the kind workers at Mcguffey's and lookingforward to working with them and the Aktion club again soon!
